About Us

Who am I?

Welcome to SinaShifa Partners! I’m the founder, Fahd Ahmad, a dedicated pediatric emergency medicine physician with a career as a certified health and wellness coach. My unique journey through medicine and coaching has been guided by a simple belief: understanding and empathy are the keystones of effective personal and professional growth. With years of experience working with physicians across various stages—from in-training novices to seasoned professionals outside the academic sphere—I bring a deep understanding of the challenges and triumphs that define a medical career.

I have navigated both professional and personal challenges, including divorce, secondary trauma, and medical hardships. It was experiences such as these that led me to coaching. Navigating these has led me to a greater appreciation for my strengths and weaknesses, and a greater recognition of the need for the support of others. Without help from professionals, family, and friends, I would not have been able to endure these hardships and find ways to learn and grow from them.

I am board-certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and Clinical Informatics. I work clinically in a free-standing children’s hospital emergency department/Level I pediatric trauma center in St. Louis, with several leadership roles at a large academic institution. Away from work, you can find me spending time/hiding from my three boys, rooting for St. Louis sports teams, enjoying time with family and friends, and staring longingly at the growing pile of books on my nightstand.

About Fahd Ahmad

I’m Fahd Ahmad, MD — a practicing physician, educator, and board-certified health and wellness coach. I am a Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University in St. Louis and continue to work clinically in pediatric emergency medicine.
I work with people navigating complex professional and personal decisions, often at moments of transition, pressure, or reassessment. My coaching is grounded in real-world responsibility and focused on helping clients move forward with clarity, intention, and sustainability.
While my background is in medicine, my coaching serves individuals across professions who carry high responsibility and are seeking a more aligned, sustainable way forward.

My Approach

My coaching supports people as whole individuals, not just professionals. Careers, relationships, finances, health, leadership roles, and identity are deeply interconnected, and meaningful change requires addressing them together.

Sessions are structured, reflective, and action-oriented. Rather than offering advice or quick fixes, coaching provides protected space to clarify priorities, challenge assumptions, and translate insight into intentional action. The work is future-focused and grounded in the realities of modern professional life.

Coaching is distinct from therapy or mentoring. It is designed to support clarity, accountability, and forward momentum, particularly when the next step feels uncertain.

Ibn Sina (Avicenna)
Physician, Philosopher, Scholar

Inspired by the legacy of Ibn Sina (Avicenna), SinaShifa reflects a belief in integrated, sustainable growth.

People are at their best when they are balanced as thinkers, leaders, and humans. To support others effectively (Shifa — healing and well-being), we must also attend to our own foundations (Sina — knowledge, reflection, and growth).

This philosophy shapes my coaching work — integrating practical wisdom, thoughtful inquiry, and respect for the complexity of real lives.

Why I Do This Work

Like many of the people I work with, my own personal and professional journey has included periods of growth, uncertainty, and recalibration. Practicing medicine within increasingly complex systems highlighted how often capable, well-intentioned people lack structured space to reflect, realign, and make intentional decisions.

Coaching emerged as a way to support others through those moments — not by telling them what to do, but by helping them think clearly, reconnect with their values, and move forward with purpose and sustainability.

Training, Experience, and Credentials

About SinaShifa Partners

We are dedicated to advancing the personal and professional growth of physicians. In a field as demanding as medicine, our mission is to nurture both the healer and the human within each physician, promoting wellness and effectiveness through tailored coaching and support.

Our name, SinaShifa Partners, is deeply rooted in the rich history of medicine and the timeless values of healing. The term Shifa in Islamic culture signifies healing and wellness, embodying our commitment to the health and well-being of the physicians we coach. Ibn Sina, known in the West as Avicenna, was a towering figure in medieval medicine whose works, especially The Canon of Medicine, remained standard texts in both the Islamic world and Europe for centuries. His approach combined meticulous observation with a deep respect for nature healing power, principles woven into the fabric of our coaching services. By integrating his name into ours, I pledge to uphold a legacy of excellence and holistic care.

Our Vision

At SinaShifa Partners, our name is a reminder of our vision to harmonize traditional wisdom with modern medical practices. We strive to empower physicians not only to excel in their careers but also to achieve personal well-being. The spirit of Ibn Sina’s dedication to knowledge and healing guides our methodologies and service offerings, ensuring that every physician who partners with us benefits from a balanced and enriched professional life. We invite all physicians who seek to enhance their personal and professional lives to join us.

Our goal is to foster personal growth and professional development for my clients, inspired by the enduring wisdom of Ibn Sina and the healing essence of Shifa. Together, we can continue the legacy of healing and wisdom inspired by one of history’s greatest physicians.

What We Offer

Our services are designed to reflect the core principles our name stands for.
